Week 3

This week we had Monday off for Martin Luther King Jr. When we came back on Tuesday I ended up just joining the trailer group and we just cut some pieces for the lights for the trailer. There was to many people and not enough things to do with the trailer because most of what was really needed to do was welding and grinding. So what the extra people did was sand some wood for a new bench for the special ed class. Thursday we switched to the plants which is actually really fun. I think learning new things about the plants is cool. Like when we switch the plants over they hang down because they are traumatized which I never knew I found that very interesting. And how much they need care just as much as a newborn baby!

Week One

The week back from Winter break I started to finish my Dallas Cowboys design for the plasma cutter. When I finished I realized that some parts of the Design would fall out. I went back to fix some of the parts that I thought were going to fall out. After I did that I watched the trailer group cut their pieces for the trailer. It was interesting to watch them come together to get it done. I was really wanted to cut a piece but it wasn't my project so I just let them do it. I have an example of what my design looked like before I changed it.

1st Semester Final

This Semester I learned a lot but I mostly learned more in AutoCad. In AutoCad you can do a lot of different projects. I've been working on a project to use the plasma cuter and it's really fun to do the design, it's a lot of work but it's worth seeing how it turns out! I also learned that I want to be a lot more hands on with the tools. I want to work on cutting the medal and welding it seems so exciting, I was very afraid to even go near the tools but now that I see people doing it, it seems exciting! Hopefully I when we get back from Winter break I can get started on the fire ring project and get to welding!

Week 15

This week we watched a video on a bus that runs on poop. We also watched a NASA video. We worked in AutoCad on working on the design for the fire pit ring. We had to watch a video on YouTube about how to do the design and get an image on the internet and make it less pixelated. I really liked doing the design because we had to take the image into different places and being able to do it on our own and just learning how to do it off of YouTube was really easy! I'm excited to get started.

This weeks essential question was how do we use natural gas?
Natural gas is widely recognized as one of the most versatile and valuable of our North American energy resources because it can be used in so many important ways. A clean generating source for almost a quarter of the nation's electric power. Efficient heating, water heating and cooking for homes and businesses.

Week 14

This week we were planning our project out. Bianca and I were looking forward to doing a teardrop trailer we had our measurements and everything ready to go. We had some options to do different side projects as well. Since there was an odd number of people we didn't want to have to many people or not enough people so what we chose to do for our side job was a fire ring. the fire ring is something you just have a lot of people around just to gather up to get warm. I am looking forward to doing this project and hopefully we can get it done on time.

This weeks essential question is, What makes aluminum so special?

What’s so special about it?  Aluminum is strong, lightweight, durable, flexible, extremely versatile, impermeable, corrosion resistant, an excellent conductor of electricity, non magnetic, non combustible, an abundant element in the earth’s crust and infinitely recyclable.
The tensile strength of pure aluminum is limited.  But mix it with other elements and aluminum becomes very strong.  When cold-rolled, an aluminum alloy becomes even stronger, sometimes doubling in strength.  Some alloys also strengthen and harden by heat treatments, which increase their tensile strengths dramatically.
Aluminum is one of the most versatile and abundant raw materials found in the earth’s crust.  An important advantage of aluminum is its sustainability and the fact that it can be recycled repeatedly, quickly, and cost-efficiently -- without any material decline in performance or quality.  The recycling of aluminum delivers energy and capital investment savings relative to both the cost of producing primary aluminum and many other competing materials.

Week 13

This week we only had three days in class. What our new project is, is working on tear drop trailers. Bianca and I are gonna work on it together hopefully getting the results we want. We saw different ideas on the internet and we found one on Pintrest that we want to do we close to it. On Thursday we did our measurements and we are ready to get started!

Week 12

This week I wasn't present in class because I was busy. I am looking forward to doing the tear drop trailers, I have been looking up different tear drop trailers and hopefully I can get going on this project as soon as possible.
